Laura R. Micciche

Laura R. Micciche is professor of English and director of the rhetoric and composition graduate program at the University of Cincinnati. Since 1999 she has been teaching undergraduate and graduate writing courses, experiences that have continually challenged her assumptions about students and their needs as learners and writers. Her research focuses on composing processes, feminist pedagogies, and affect. Recent books include Failure Pedagogies: Learning and Unlearning What It Means to Fail (Peter Lang 2020) co-edited with Allison D. Carr, and Acknowledging Writing Partners (Parlor 2017). For six years, she served as editor of Composition Studies, an independent journal in writing studies that publishes both practical and theoretical scholarship about writing.
