Antonio Byrd
Antonio Byrd is assistant professor of English at the University of Missouri Kansas City where he teaches courses in professional and technical communication, multimodal composition, composition studies, and qualitative research methods. He researches how the legacies of liberation using literacy carry forward into present day Black digital literacies and media features. His work has appeared in Composition Studies, Technical Communiation Quarterly, and College Composition and Communication. He’s finishing a book on computer code bootcamps and the Black adults who attend them. Antonio serves on the Modern Language Association and Conference on College Composition and Communication Joint Task Force on Writing and AI (MLA-CCCC Joint Task Force on Writing and AI), which is charged to, among other things, create resources that will synthesize, set professional standards, and make recommendations/provide guidance to scholars and teacher.
